Kenmore 2LB BREAD MAKER

The bread maker is very good, I like it
I bought it from sears yesterday. I really enjoy using this bread maker. It makes great toast for my family. It has the feature that allows me to set a timer to get a fresh bread this morning. Very cool. I made the oatmeal bread with almond and cranberries, very yummy! I will try making other kinds of bread tomorrow. It is very easily to clean up.If you are new to baking try this machine out first. Don't buy an expensive one.

We'll see...
First loaf I made was Hot Buttered Rum Loaf & it came out DIVINE!! Second loaf was a nightmare...new recipe (Coconut Milk & Chickpea Flour Bread) made with ingredients I'm not used to using. Came out like a brick & I had to throw it away. I'll blame myself for that one. Third loaf (Applesauce Spice Bread) is in the machine right now & so far, so good. We'll see...

I like:
*the look of this machine
*the huge window
*the rotate-to-secure pan
*the digital features
*the price
*the bake feature

I do not like:
*that it shimmies on the countertop so much I had to put it on the floor for fear of it falling off the counter
*that when I wiped the display window with my finger, the readout became "smooshy" and took several minutes to become clear again
*that the display is not back-lit & is very hard to see
*that the indicators for bread size and crust color are very tiny and very hard to see...

maybe yes, maybe...
I got this bread machine for Christmas. The first three loaves I made with it all came out divinely, then I went to use the whole wheat program (program #2), and the machine just sat there. I thought for sure it was broken, or not connected properly and I tried to shut it off and reset it - no way you can do that - it finally started turning after 30 minutes, but the ingredients never turned into dough, and the result was a mess.

I decided to try the whole wheat program again, and the same thing happened. This time I called customer service right away, they answered right away, and the lady told me that on program 2, it is designed to wait for 30 minutes, before it starts turning - an omission from the manual, which should have said that.

Anyway, I'm trying program 2 again. We'll see how it turns out.
