Bad product will never buy again
The filter arrived open with no lead, we said ok let's give it a shot...my husband installed it and since than the water taste horrible . We thought we can save some money buying on line but we ended up spending more money to buy a new one. Will never buy from this seller again and will not recommend it. Clearly this is a used filter and not new and it is very bad.what a waste....
Works in Samsung RFG 295 series refrigerator
This is another update of an earlier review (see below). I've bought three or four of these since the first one, which leaked until I jiggled it around a little bit. That one ended up working fine, and the other ones I bought work fine. The company added some sealant and now instruct you to soak the filter in water for 15 minutes before installing it. That seems to do the trick! Just make sure you twist it on properly and completely. I recommend this as a greener and cheaper alternative to the OEM filters.
Earlier review: I wanted this to be a good filter -- with the "greener" manufacturing process and Made in Canada cred -- but it leaked in my 28.5 cu ft Samsung refrigerator. Apparently not an adequate replacement for the OEM DA29-00003 filter.
Update: I seem to have been able to get it to seal properly after taking it out and putting it in "backwards" and then taking it out again and putting it in "forwards." Totally random thing to do, but it hasn't...
Leaks
I bought 6 of these, 4 out of the 6 leaked so badly that I had to throw them in the garbage.
Will not be buying anymore. Good concept but faulty product.
