Bissell 33N8A Spotbot Pet Handsfree Spot and Stain Cleaner with Deep Reach Technology [New in 2011]

A Piece of crap with defective pump that Bissell will not cover under warranty
This spot bot has a piece of defective crap for a pump that Bissell refused to cover under warranty after only 3 months of use. My son received this as a gift in march and after only about 8 uses the pump died. They claim that because of it's manufacture date it is past the warranty period!! Not the date it was purchased!!! BTW...do you have any idea how to read the date codes on anything you buy??? Bissell no longer stands behind it's products and I will never buy another Bissell product.

Over all, good - Two small complaints
By the way, when I bought this, it was model 12006 and it is the model that is blue. I see that those pictures are gone and replaced with another now, so I'm reviewing the blue one.

I find that it cleans as well as any other, large or portable. I use the manual option more because I find that the automatic part uses a LOT of detergent. My other complaint, along that vein, is that the automatic cleaning leaves the floor too wet. The good news is that I can just take the hose and suck out most of the excess moisture so, once I figured that out, I was happy with it.

I do like the portability as, having recently acquired a puppy, I was getting tired of pulling out my full-size carpet cleaner for spot cleaning.

Disappointment
I bought this cleaner after reading multiple reviews saying how well it cleaned. We have two dogs and two kids so the idea of spot cleaning appealed to us. I will give it credit for being easy to use, lightweight and easy to store, but that's where the positve ends. After cleaning, this machine would leave large colored spots on the carpet. The suction was not very good either, as the spot was often wet for a day or two after cleaning. Other cleaners we have used on the same carpets have only taken a couple of hours to dry. I did read a review stating to use less soap to avoid the spots, which we tried and it still left spots, so I have to say I was really disappointed with this cleaner. We're just happy the store took it back.
