Holmes HAP725-U 99.97% HEPA Air Purifier

Good, basic, no frills, true HEPA filtration
I purchased this item because I had been looking for a reasonably priced true HEPA room air filter with no ionizer. I have heard conflciting information on the safety of ionizers which produce ozone in the home so I did not want that feature, though it is popular right now. I have pet birds which are high dander and wanted to filter the air in the room the birds are in, both for my health and the birds' health.

I have been really happy with this product. The box says it is for a 16' x 16' room. I am using it in a 12' x 16' room and it seems to do the job. It is compact and is designed to sit on its end or on its side, whichever you prefer. It is beige and unobtrusive. The item is ready to go right out of the box - you just have to install the carbon filters (HEPA filters are pre-installed at the factory). Installing the filters is a snap. The air filter is simple to use. There is power button to turn it on and off and it has four operating speeds, 1 through 4. You can also...

Great Air Purifier / fan!
We have had this model for a year now and it works great! It does a fantastic job removing dust from the air. We live in New York City, so there is a lot of dust and grime in the air, and we both have allergies. With this air purifier running, we have no problems breathing and can sleep soundly. Now we have a newborn and feel confident that the air in the bedroom is clean and fresh. It really circulates the air well. I change the filters every 4-5 months (you can purchase them for only $9.99 on Amazon.com for 4 filters!).

This is a great investment if you want ceaner air in your home.

Absolutely Excellent!!!
I just bought 2 of these and it works wonderful. I recently adopted a kitten and bought her home. Not realizing the effect it may or may not have on my younger daughter, she had an allergic reaction. Eyes started puffing up and nose very congested. I immediately went to K-Mart and purchased 2 (one for the living room and one for her room). After she took some allergy medication and turned these on, that was all she wrote. It worked perfectly!!!

I would definitely recommend this to anyone!!

Jaipan 3 Jar Fine Mixer Grinder, 750-Watt

Beware: The mixier only operates at 300W Power. Average Indian Mixie
Update Oct/2012
I recently bought a Kill-a-Watt power meter and connected this Mixier and it is only using 300W power and not 750 Watts as advertised. I always have wondered why a 750 watts mixer grinder is not very powerful and now I know the reason. Consumer's are misinformed by either the marketer or the manufacturer.

PROS:
1) The cheapest Indian Mixer grinder I found in Amazon (I bought it for $80).
2) It has three jars which is useful for most of Indian family needs.
3) The seller delivered the product on time and as promised.

Cons:
1) This Mixer trips a lot (even with a small amount of load), which is a not good thing. However there is a trip switch in the bottom which we can use to temporarily enable it again.
2) The product as it delivered to our home appeared as if it is manufactured at least 2-3 years ago. It appeared old (but not used) and the washers in the jars smelled like old ones.
3) The Mixer advertises as 750...

CRAPPY! no.. no... CRAPPIEST Grinder ever
I am really surprised this thing got good reviews.
The blades of both of my Jars are stuck after one time use. They don't move no matter what I do... Reason the grinding particles are getting stuck in the thing that spins the blade. Once they dry up there is no where to move.

Lost $100 bucks on this thing.

It trips most of the time saying overload.. I am this close to throwing it out. Only thing stopping me are the $ 100 I spent.

I am able to use only 1 jar that too with lot of pouring hot water , trying to check on the blades if they can move before I start grinding... The blades don't move smoothly after 30 min of this exercise. Now I put it on the mixie turn it on with water only before the blades become free... The worst thing is no matter how much you clean before and after the blades always become hard to move.

My review in one sentence.... CRAPPIEST Mixer grinder ever

Cheap roadside quality
I bought this in desperation to buy a mixer grinder that meets the functions typical Indians need. In India, we wouldn't even give it a second look.

Cheap road side plastic with no standards... the parts look as if they are moulded by hand.

The plug doesn't fit standard american plug points.. I had to buy an adapter.

The steel jars are good, but the fitting of blades and it's plastic parts make it functionally unreliable.

It stopped working after two and half months.

It was used mainly to make chutneys.. grind soaked urad dal and rice for dosas. Something typically done almost 2 times in a week in India... and I wonder, how those we use in India last for years in India.. I am using Prestige since 7 years now... it works without glitch.

DeLonghi Esclusivo DC414T 14 Cup Programmable - Glass - Stainless/Black

Great coffee, for a while
I bought this coffee maker about 6 months ago, and it's been excellent. It makes great coffee, and lots of it, and has all the features you want on a coffee maker. It's filter-less as well, which I really like. I never had any of the problems with spills that other reviewers had, but you do need to pay attention when pouring as the carafe's spout is a bit large.

That said, after just over 6 months, the unit died. The coffee was great, but the overall experience wasn't.

Great but...
The DeLonghi DC414T is a nice looking and nice brewing coffee maker with a lot of features, but...

You cannot pour a cup of coffee without spilling half the pot. I promise that I tried and tried and tried and tired of trying. The carafe on this maker is a reason to NOT BUY! If you decide to buy, make twice the amount of coffee you would like to drink because the other half will be soaked in the towel.

Leaky Coffee Pot!
I bought this for my office staff and we are replacing it for a few reasons.

1. It leaks badly! The am in total agreement with the other reviewers. The coffee pot spout and lid are so wide and lacks a proper seal thus creating a constant leaky pour. It's a mess around the coffee maker and the over-spill makes for a messy mug as well.

2. The coffee pot (carafe) broke after only 3 months of use. It simply cracked into pieces when we removed it from the burner one day - not sure why!

The replacement pot is almost as much as the entire coffee maker so I've decided to buy another coffee maker - not this model for sure.

The Sharper Image 8147SI Stainless-Steel Super Grill with Interchangeable Nonstick Plates

Super Grill - Super Bang For Your Buck! *UPDATED REVIEW*
***UPDATED REVIEW TO 2 STARS***
Changing the rating from 5 to 2 stars and going back to one of George's grills. After using this grill 20-30 times (2 - 3 times a week for about 10 weeks), the mechanism securing the top plate no longer functions as it should. The grill is still usable, but the plates don't align as they once did and the top half wobbles. The problem allows lots more grease to splatter which leaves an oily outline around the grill on the counter after each use.

***ORIGINAL 5 STAR REVIEW BELOW***
The quick overview is that I highly recommend Sharper Image's "Super Grill" as your best bet for this price range. Compared to similarly priced better known competitors, you'll be happy with the Super Grill's highly desirable differentiating features.

First, but not the most important, the Sharper Image grill is really pleasing aesthetically. It just looks better than any of the others we've owned over the years and we won't park it away after...

Cooks great but instructions are terrible!
The unit cooks great....I found it to cook evenly on both sides. Love the interchangable plates. But the instruction booklet is more about covering the Sharper Image for legal liabilities than it is actual instructions for the user. I did not even know it had an articulating hinge until I discovered it on my own by looking at the pictures on the box and on the web. The booklet said nothing about it. That's why it only gets 4 stars. However, I would recommend purchase of this product. Another qwirk is that the unit only comes with one flat interchangable plate. So if you want to cook eggs or pancakes on both sides with the unit flat in the wide open position, you can only cook those items on one flat side the other side will be a raised grill plate. Don't know who came up with that brilliant idea....not a cook!

Grill OK, Manual Chinese?
My wife was wanting a waffle iron, but I wanted something more. As a kid, we had one that was a waffle iron/griddle. It could be used as a waffle iron (of course) or could be opened all the way, the plates flipped and the other side was a smooth grill plate. We always used it for pancakes. I was looking for something similar. After looking at several others, I found this at a local chain store.

Upon first inspection, I had a problem with was the instruction booklet. Though the English is decent, it doesn't tell you much. The only thing it is good for is the legal stuff and to show you how to change the cooking plates. As far as giving instruction about how to cook with it, you can discern just about as much by looking at the controls. Because the instructions don't give any clue as to where to put the controls for different kinds of meats, sandwiches or whatever it is that you're wanting to cook, it's all guess work. I've only had it for a couple weeks, so I...

Shark XL Floor Kit for the Steam Pocket Mop, SXL3501

The REGULAR size RECTANGLE attachment is probably BIG ENOUGH ...
I purchased the Euro-Pro Shark XL3501 Floor Kit from NewEgg to use with the Steam Pocket Mop. I thought with the EXTRA LARGE mop head that I would be able to clean MORE space FASTER, but after using it a few times I'm not convinced. To me, the XL mop HEAD seemed just a little too big for the mop. (It is about 1.5x bigger than the standard/regular size rectangle mop that comes with the mop.) The mop was more difficult to push and manuever with the XL head (which is why I probably didn't clean any faster). In addition, the actual cleaning surface of the mop bottom seemed to be primarily in the very center of the XL mop head (as evidenced by the dirt pattern on the bottom of the pad). This is a "nice to have" accessory, but not a necessary one. I personally prefer the standard/regular size rectangle mop head since it moves easier across the floor (which is why I subtracted 1 star from the XL mop head's rating). A better investment would probably be additional pads for the regular...

xl floor kit
I bought the shark pocket steam mop in January 2010. I also bought the xl kit which I use most of the time. After 6 months of regular use 1 time a week , the connection from the unit to the mop head frayed and the mop head had to be replaced. This should not happen in such a short period of time. The mop itself is a great product and really does the job of cleaning the floors. Hopefully, this new mop head will last longer.

Good quality product
I have used the Shark steam pocket mop since December 2009. I like that it does not leave streaks or push the dirt around. It is easy and fast to use. The xl head is a better size then the small one that it comes with to allow more cleaning. I have found that rinsing the pocket off in the sink prior to washing helps remove the dirt and build up.

Vornado TH1 Whole Room Tower Heater

Jury still out
I am disapointed that there are not more reviews on this product! We have a second home in the mountains with a bar/gameroom downstairs which has central heat, but still maintains a chilly 50degrees in the winter(outside temps in the teens). We wanted a small space heater to push the temp to around 60degrees. The room has a fireplace, but we don't want to burn a cord of wood every winter just to use the space for a few drinks or a movie. We bought a small Honeywell heater which didn't put out enough heat. We exchanged it for a bigger Pure Comfort box but it died the first night and the local hardware store didn't have a replacement... so.. we got back to the flatlands and purchased a Vornado. I plugged it in and I tried to warm our large(12ft ceiling-250sqft) living room just to see how it would perform, but after 40minutes it didn't seem to do much. I then moved it to our family room which is about 200sqft w/8ft ceilings, but is not an enclosed room(open to kitchen and hallway). I...

Not Strong Enough
We purchased this heater after our other, much older one, burned out. This heater is relatively small and runs pretty quietly, which is nice. But that isn't enough to compensate for the absurdly poor amount of heat that it puts out. We didn't expect much from a small room heater, but out of all of the room heaters that we have ever used this is by far the weakest one. It is also disappointing that this heater has very few settings and doesn't oscillate. If you want a little heater to warm your toes during spring while you're also running a stronger heater then by all means, get this one. If you're looking for an actual heater that has the ability to heat an entire room by more than 4 degrees than this is certainly not for you.

Made in China
The Owner's Guide uses page 2 exclusively to inform reader that Vornado products are "Designed, engineered and supported in Andover, Kansas.

My first Vornado purchase many years ago was the Vortex Heat Whole Room Portable Electric Space Heater. It was smooth, quiet, and best of all it offered a continuous running fan while the heat cycled off and on. This made for an uniterrupted pleasing sound to sleep or work by. It pleased me to think that these must be better machines because they were Made in America.
However, since then I have purchased 2 more such type units. Both, regretablly, not like the 1st. Both had a sporadic rattle of some sort that could be easily heard. I called customer service to voice my unhappiness, but there was not a sympathetic customer service rep on the other end. I still have these 2 units.
In November, 2012, I ordered the TH1 Tower Heater from Vornado for $99.99, with much anticipation that it surely would meet the preference for...

Dexter-Russell (3-WAY) - Ceramic Knife Sharpener - Sani-Safe Series

Sous Chef
First off I want to throw in here that I went to school for a Culinary Arts degree. In school we practiced knife skills up the wazoo and in order to be successful at amazing knife skills you need knives that are as sharp as a razor. This sharpener is the EXACT ones we used in Culinary school to hone all the blades we wielded in the kitchen. Anyway, I left school and worked as a chef in different kitchens and never came across this type of sharpener again. And I missed it dearly.

Years later I decided to leave the restaurant industry behind and move on to more private chef types of jobs. And it was then that I wanted, no, needed to find this sharpener again. And here it was all along. The step-by-step sharpening option is excellent for bringing old knives back from the dead. But if you stay on top of your sharpening as I do, you will really only need to use the lightest colored ceramic bar to sharpen. That particular bar feels as smooth as ceramic can get. You...

Perfect for one-hand sharpening
This is perfect for persons who have only one useable hand. its weight keeps it in place while you're sharpening. This is very well made.

Needs Skill to Use Properly
For years, I've been successfully sharpening my knives with a two-stage Crock Stick; the rod angles are set in the holder, all one needs to do is draw the knife down the rods, keeping the blade fairly perpendicular to the holder. With the Crock Stick rods wearing down, I thought I'd try this sharpener as a replacement after reading the user ratings. Alas, it doesn't work well for me; constantly holding the knife blade at the proper angle to these rods seems all but impossible for me. I was able to use the course, blue stone to bring back a costly but really abused paring knife blade, but I could only sharpen it to "perfection" by finishing with the Crock Stick; thus, I will look for new rods for the Crock, now.

Kichler Lighting 339022SNW Stratmoor Ceiling Fan, Satin Natural White

Great Fan
This is a great fan for this price. I particularly like it because it mounts directly to the ceiling with NO downrod at all. I had a hard time finding a true ceiling hugger at the home improvement stores. I'm an electrician and I've installed plenty of fans. This one is solid. One thing however the color is a little more dark brown than the picture makes it seem. Which didn't matter to me, but my Wife was kind of bummed.

LOVE THIS FAN
I love this fan. It looks wonderful mounted on celing. It was easy to install and perfect for low ceilings. I have seen no difference in air flow between my old regular fan and this low profile fan. I would recommend this to anyone. The fan is "as decribed" 2 colors on fan blades and both were nice...once I saw them, I had trouble chosing which color I prefered. I does not include a light, but this is what I wanted for the low ceiling. You can purchase a light seperatly and I have seen some really nice brushed metal lights for little money. When I need my next fan, I will purchase this one...if it is still available. Enjoy! Any questions, then please ask and maybe I can answer. Cheers! p.s. almost forgot to add that this fan is completely silent to my ears...the only sound I hear is the sound of the breeze it creates.

Soleus DP1-45-03 (SG-DEH-45-1) 45 PINT ENERGY STAR Dehumidifier.

Fan doesn't stop running
I have this unit set up in a 27x30 basement space. It seems to work well enough, but the fan never shuts off, even when the desired humidity level is reached. I was recently told by Soleus technical support that this is the expected behavior. To me, it seems like a poor design and a waste of electricity. Had I known this in advance, I definitely would not have purchased this item.

Way better than my LG dehumidifier
I have two dehumidifiers, this Soleus and one that is an LG brand. This one totally blows the LG away on all fronts.
The Soleus:
1) removes 2-3 times as much water from the air in the same amount of time
2) puts out WAY less heat than the LG
3) is quieter than the LG
The only downside is that it is so effective, I need a bigger tank. In a room that just had the carpet steamcleaned, it filled the tank in about 8 hours.
I've had it for several years and it's still going strong.

possible fire hazzard
I had 3 of these dehumidifiers from menards and none lasted longer than 3 months and these models have had bad reviews for years - that's the good news - since then I did a little investigating and come to find out these have been pulled from sellers shelves and are under investigation for possible fire hazards.- before I wrote this I wrote soleus and was told that they recommended not running it anymore until they finish investigating a complaint ( not mentioning anything about possible fire hazard) - since I got the last unit direct from the company you would think they would warn customers about something they knew for months about possibly catching fire - but I had to find out about it on the internet. Unreal customer service not to even a warning to the customer yet pulled them from stores - needless to say I am still here to write this and not dead with the rest of my family. After 3 bad units in a row I just wanted my money back and have yet to get it. You have been warned -...

Hunter Refurbished 52" White Ceiling Fan with Light | HR28681

Very nice fan.
The only problem I had is with Fedex. The box came totally wet and was worried that the motor got wet. So far no problem with the fan. Box fell apart. Could not send back if I wanted to. DO NOT SHIP FEDEX IF YOU CAN. THEY SUCK.

Like new
I bought one of these new previously. This one said it's reconditioned. It costs much less and when I opened the box, it looked just like the brand new one. The only beef I have, like others, is the name. It certainly takes more than 5 minutes to install. It takes 5 minutes just to unpack it! It took me an hour, but it was easy to do. The fan is very quiet and no wobble.

Bought new version
I bought the same fan new from another seller. Note the fixture uses 2x60 watt bulbs. It is really quiet. The pull chain for the fan seems poorly designed, catching against the opening.

InSinkErator Badger 1, 1/3 HP with Power Cord Food Waste Disposer

InSinkerator / Badger 1
Great product! This was a replacement when we installed granite countertops. Fast shipping! Very quiet and easy to install! Highly recommend this disposal!

Almost Bulletproof
I'm about to replace the 1/3hp Badger in the house I'm renting.

It appears to be as old as the house (15 years), and it still works fine.

I'm replacing it because somebody dropped an olive pit down the drain last year. When the disposal was turned on, the olive pit punched a dime-sized hole through the body of the disposal unit.

I used silicon sealant and duct tape to fix the hole, but now the cast iron body of the disposal is cracking around the hole and it leaks...

Otherwise, we'd still be using it.

Great service and price
Product received in excellent condition and at a price unbeatable elsewhere. Be aware that this unit has a 3-prong plugin cord not a cord for direct attachment to your electrical service. It was fairly easy to remove the cord and make a direct connection.

Folding Food Slicer

Avoid. Poor design
Poor quality. On a roast, thinnest slice was about 3/8". Anything less, would not slice all the way through. Slide kept catching on back plate. Awkward to use. They suggest frozen or partially frozen meats for slicing. Didn't try. Also tried a relatively hard cheese, but about 1/2" slices was the best I could do. Because of the slide problem didn't always slice all the way through.

Only good point was ability to fold it for storage.

Poorly designed, low quality piece of junk
DO NOT buy this. I did, hoping it would be like my old KRUPS which worked great and lasted years. This unit does not slice tin, the sliding tray jams and sticks, it is awkward to use. The Krups looked similar but worked opposite of this so it felt very strange using the other hand to push the tray that would.'t slide. It is also difficult to clean as the bottom tray does not detach.

The whole unit looks and feels cheap. You will be very disappointed if you buy it. Mine, after one use, is going in the trash. Don't want to waste more money shipping it back.

I rarely give two or three stars, but for this, if there was the option, I would give zero stars.

Bought it for my mom :-)
My mom has one of these in Europe and she loves it. We buy salami from the supermarket in whole and it's just easier to slice it up ourselves, instead of buying it already sliced up at the store. She loves it. You also don't need all that extra stuff it comes with, the tray that slides back and forth. Works fine without all that.

Ion Generator Kit

Scientific toy only
The one I bought only comes with the high voltage power supply I had to buy a 12v power supply from radio shack. After putting it together I turned it on and saw the led light up. The air flow is there but almost unnoticeable. It will not register on an airflow meter. It is cool using ions to move air but impractical for anything more than a scientific demonstration. I was hoping it could blow out a candle but it isn't that powerful.

Negative Ion Generator Kit
I ordered this kit for paranormal research, more on a whim than anything, just to try it out. It actually turned out to be a pretty amazing little gadget that works really well-much better than anticipated. It will blow out a cigarette lighter from about 4 inches away, it's so powerful, and you can smell the ozone (that "clean" smell) that it generates immediately upon plugging it in.
It DOES NOT come with a power supply (which it doesn't say in the description), but any 12 volt 500ma or so power supply with a 2.1mm male plug will work just fine.
It's a little tricky to solder the tubes and nails if you are a beginner and don't have much experience soldering. I would definitely recommend using a small butane torch or something similar, as a soldering iron will never get the copper tubes hot enough. I have a 140 watt soldering gun, and it took forever to heat up the copper tubes. Ended up using a small torch, and it worked like a charm.
The tubes are just...

good toy but could be better!
This is a nice kit, but for the money they could have made it better by including one 80mm fan.
I bought this because my air purifier broke down and I got a replacement off amazon but that also broke down within a few months. So, I decided to give this a try, and so far it is outperforming my XJ-2100UV. To achieve this, I installed a 12V fan right behind the board holding the nails. Right now I'm considering building a casing for it or installing it inside my PC tower since it is on most of the time and I don't have to worry about air flow.
cleaning is my main concern about this product. My XJ-2100UV had a detachable blade set that you can wash but the pipes on this are fixed!! I have to figure out something here!! and I will let you know.
I think that this product is overpriced, but we all know that toys are expensive...lol

By the way, I'm considering building a custom one myself. Most likely bigger since this toy fits on my palm. However, I probably need to...

Breadman TR2200C Ultimate Bread Machine

Great bread machine!
I've had this bread machine for about a year and a half. It really does a nice job and is quite easy to use. We use it fairly often, especially with colder weather coming on, whenever a hot, fresh loaf of bread is desired! We've tried several of the recipes in the instruction manual and have enjoyed them all. I noticed one reviewer complained about not being able to order replacement parts. I accidentally tossed my kneading paddle in the trash and was able to quickly reorder one using the number in the manual for $8. The customer service rep was very kind and helpful. I'm planning on buying one of these machines for my parents for Christmas this year and would recommend the Breadman to anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced, quality machine.

Great machine
I've been using a bread machine for years, but I just bought a Breadman Ultimate a few weeks ago. It's a dream! The controls are easy to use, cleanup is easy, but best of all: I haven't been able to get it to ruin a loaf yet. With my old DAK machine I had to carefully measure and monitor or risk wasting a whole loaf of bread. The Breadman Ultimate can somehow compensate better if my measuring is off slightly.

This machine has all the bells and whistles for you. If you consider good bread an important part of your diet, get this one. But if you just want a fresh loaf of homemade white bread occasionally, you can save a lot of money by getting one of the lesser models.

Great Machine, Not So Great Price
Like every other couple on the planet we received a bread machine as a wedding present several years ago. At first I thought it'd be a "sit-on-my-countertop-taking-up-space" appliance but it turned into an item we use all the item. I love hot, fresh bread and used to enjoy making it by hand--I still do occasionally, just for fun--but who has the time? With the bread machine you can make from-scratch loaves quickly, easily and with no mess whatsoever. After a couple years of using our bargain basement gift model we purchased the Breadman Ultimate--a tool I still use at least once a week after more than two years.

Some people have complaints about how a bread machine cooks their bread and if you like ultra-crusty loaves you'll probably want to skip the machine's baking cycle and put it in the oven, but even then this machine is a godsend, doing the "heavy lifting" (i.e. mixing, kneading and rising) for you, all with one touch of a button.

Personally, I prefer...

Ninja Kitchen System Pulse Bl201

Perfect for Smoothies
Although it comes with various blending and dough-making attachments, I very specifically purchased this item to make smoothies, and it does this extremely well.

The Ninja Kitchen System Pulse comes with a power base, pitcher, two single serving containers, and lids and blades for all three. I find the single serving containers the most useful. You simply put your ingredients into the container, screw on a lid that holds a small blade, and place the container on the power base. Press down on the top of the container and within a minute or two you have a very nicely made smoothie.

Even so, the Ninja Kitchen System Pulse has a few drawbacks. You can't simply turn it on and walk away for a moment: you have to press down on the container to operate the power base. No pressure, no power. It is also extremely noisy and sounds a bit like a jet is about to take off from your kitchen counter top. But I have used it several times a day and find that it holds up well...

Hssmiles
I was given a Ninja last year for my birthday. Love it. I am able to grind up beets to juice, hard to find a machine to do. I put in chunks of beet and water and looks like baby food when it's done.
The juicing of the beets helps me daily get my vegetables drinkable. Would recommend this machine.
When doing just a smoothie ice takes a lot longer to crush up, sometimes ending up with large ice in the drink. That would be the only problem I have found.

Does not work better for fruit & kale smoothies than a $39 Oster blender
This item was touted highly by others to chop up anything. I do fruit smoothies for breakfast, and add a cup of chopped kale to make it healthy.

This item has not done one bit better job of chopping than my previous Oster blender that I bought on sale for $29.
You have to use baby kale or the kale comes out in tiny chunky bits whose texture ruins the smoothie. Hardly smooth.
It's also bigger and bulkier for storage and use. If you take the lid off to pour, the blades will pour right out, if you have to turn it up to pour the entire contents out. The one I bought does come with an extra cup you can use and take and carry with you. The cup I use has a straw and is much easier to use than this one that came with it, that you blend and take and drink all from the same cup. Some people like it, but I don't use it.

Save your money unless you're making more than smoothies. Don't spend the money. Its $100 I could have saved. Now you can too.

Lutron LRF2-OCRB-P-WH Radio Powr Savr Wireless Ceiling-Mounted Occupancy/Vacancy Sensor, White

This is not a newer item
The link that brought me to this page stated that this was a newer item... this is in fact an older and more expensive version.

Great product
I paired this with a Lutron Switch (Lutron MRF2-600M-WH Maestro Wireless 600W Single-Pole or Multi-Location Dimmer, White) for a closet where the switch is in a hard to reach locaction.

Now, when I walk in the closet, it catches my movement and turns on the light (a nice, rapid raising of the lights... not a snap-on effect like a normal switch). When I'm not in the closet for more than 5 minutes, the lights go off.

Note... this setup doesn't work with fluorescent lights (I was going to replace the circular fluorescent fixture in the closet anyway) or the LED flat panel light fixture I also tried (it had a ballast like a fluorescent). It worked beautifully with a standard incandescent light fixture.

Lutron Wireless Detector
Very simple set up. Just select the location you want to detect movement and mount, sync to switch and you're done. Very satisfied with the result.

Arctic-Pro Digital Screen Tower Fan with Remote Control Dark Gray - 42-Inch

A little noisy-but I don't mind,...
I use a fan in the winter in my bedroom for ambient noise-so I don't mind when a fan is a little noisy! I can't sleep when it is too quiet! The fan was easy to assemble-all you need is a Phillips screwdriver, and it is sturdy once you put it together. The remote is easy to use and the buttons are big and stand out.

Keurig B66 Single Serve Gourmet Coffee & Tea Brewing System

New Keurig B66 "Ultimate"
I have just purchased a Keurig Model B66 "Ultimate" and tried it out within the hour. My first opinions on this model are:

On a negative note... I found that the sound is noticeable when the unit is pumping the water into its heater. The individual K-Cup coffee containers while convenient, are costly per cup.

On the positive side... I drink black coffee and I feel that this unit does heat the water to a sufficient temperature and brews a drinkable cup of coffee very quickly. Another plus... Keurig also offers a solution for the "costly per cup servings" in that it sells a reusable coffee filter as an accessory. (This filter will permit you to use your own coffee which relates to a much lower cost per cup.)

My biggest regret about purchasing this particular model is that I didn't notice that the largest cup this unit brews is only ten (well 9.25) ounces... and not the twelve ounce mug size that I consider to be "my" standard size cup. In all fairness I...

Convenient / Good Coffee
I'd never heard of K-cups when I ran into the
Keurig B66 in Costco. At [...]with 90 K-cups,
I figured it was worth a try. As a bit of a coffee snob
(longtime "Peetnik" who finds Starbucks a little too weak)
I'd avoided systems like
Senseo because I figured that they wouldn't brew
coffee as strong as I like it. And that WAS my experience
with the Keurig, too: The sample K-cups were okay,
but--unless brewed on the tiny 5.25 oz setting--
far too weak for my taste. Again, let me stress,
MY personal taste is for coffee stronger than probably
95% of Americans, so take that into account.

Cons: Even after trying the K-cups recommended by
others who say they prefer strong coffee
(Emeril's "Big Easy Bold," Coffee People's "Donut Shop Coffee,"
"Black Tiger" & "Wake Up", Timothy's "Midnight Magic"
& "Rainforest Espresso," and so on, I'm still having
trouble finding a stiff cup of Joe brewed at 7.25 oz...

Best Coffee System / Package Available
I recently asked for a cup of joe at a friend's house and they showed me their Keurig B60. They let me pick my own flavor and showed me how easy it was to make a cup of coffee with it. I was amazed at how fast this gourmet coffee was ready and how little there was to do for clean up. When I got home I researched it.

The only differences between the B60 and B66 is the color of the machine and quantity of sample K-Cups. The B60 is almost all black with a chrome handle while this B66 has a black body, silver top and chrome handle. The B60 gives you the standard 18 pack K-Cup sample, while the B66 gives you an additional 4 18-packs of samples AND a reusable "My K-Cup". The My K-Cup is a reusable filter you can put your own coffee in if you really want to (kind of defeats the purpose).

After using both the B60 and B66 I can tell you they both work EXACTLY the same. Any review you see for B60 has the same features, benefits, and shortfalls as the B66...

FoodSaver Advanced Design Vacuum Sealing System V2840 RED/Stainless

New and improved?
Overall a very good product, our 5th. Their new line is not as good as the previous models. We tried their new pretty, automatic, improved upright model. Bad news, don't spend any money or time on it. Bought and returned one. This V2840 is it's replacement and it is simular to the ones that we had before, but not as good as the originals.

Food Saver Vacuum Sealer
The Food Saver Vacuum Searler I purchased has been everything I expected. Does a great job of sealing bags and containers and is quieter than my old appliance. Well worth the price to save foods in the freezer or refrigerator. I certainly can recommend this product.

Worst vacuum sealer on the market
I would give this zero stars but had to give it one so I could submit this review.

Bought this to seal food. Just got of the phone with a rep. According to the rep this sealer is only supposed to be used to seal four bags at a time and then be shutoff for 20 minutes. Found this out the hard way. Was going to spend the day sealing food in bags and after four bags vacuum pump would not pull air from the bag. That's when we called Food saver and were told this product is for home use only which is what we were doing. So save your money and buy another product.

Mr. Coffee FTX45-1FS 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Stainless Steel

Good morning cup
I have had my Mr Coffee for a couple years now. I paid a lot more for mine. It's the best coffee maker I have ever had. Coffee comes out tasting fresh everytime. I use the timer function all the time so I wake up to hot, fresh coffee every morning.
I have had trouble in the past with other coffee makers with bad flavor in the coffee. NOT the case here. I would recommend this coffee maker to everyone.

Nice pot!
Great coffeemaker for the price. Nice features, easy to use, makes drinkable coffee. This is the 2nd Mr. Coffee brand coffeemaker I've purchased.

oldy but not exactly a goody
I have had this Mr.Coffee coffee make for almost 4 years now, it makes an excellent cup of coffee. the timer function works great always wake up to a hot pot in the morning. The brew selection for regular and strong, if you select strong you will have a BLACK pot of coffee full of flavor.

My main complaint with this thing is that it leaks water as another review states not just water it will leak brewed coffee somehow on the counter top, not much just a few splashes here and there but if not taken care of quickly it will stain some counter top types.
Now this machine did not leak when i first purchased it it took it about 2 years and then i would start to see some puddles. over time it is getting worse.

All in all this is not a bad coffee pot will make a great cup of coffee but there are a few other things that just do not let me give this a 4-5 star rating.

Beka Cookware Avant Garde Deep Fryer, 9-1/2 Inch

excellent steamer also..
Bought it to deep fry and steam. thought it looked great as well if it had to be left out. I have too many crock pots and plug in roasters that never seem to get cleaned and put away. does a great job at both steaming and deep frying.

Deep Fryer the best
I have had many other deep fryers and decided to use one that went on the stove top to use. I liked the round stainless steel design and it is the heavy stainless steel. It heats up quick and cools down quick. Took it to the cabin that only has gass to cook on and it was great. Use only the amount of oil I decide. Cleans up quickly.

Omega 1000 Juicer

Top quality Juicer, but get the 4000 instead
My experience is limited to the Omega 1000 and 4000. Both are very good machines, but one of them has some distinct advantages.

As the other reviewers have noted, this machine is very solidly built & should easily outlast the 15 year warranty. In fact, it might outlive the 4000.

Why? Because the 4000 is so much more pleasant to use that you will use it more, because the operating principle is a little different.

Both machines have a chute that you feed fruits & vegatables into. At the bottom of the chute is a stainless steel disc/blade that grinds up the food into a pulp.

On the 1000 model, the pulp is thrown out by centrifugal force into a drum that is just like a washing machine drum - it is perforated stainless that traps the pulp on the inside and allows the juice to strain out. Just like on a washing machine spin cycle, it is possible to get the contents out of balance so that the whole machine shakes & makes a real racket! This is very easy to do on the...

Great Juicer!
This juicer has been great. It juices anything we throw at it. Very powerful motor. Very little vibration. Super high quality!

We've made all kinds of juices, but especially like vegetable (beets, carrots, etc.) and fruit (cherries, strawberries, etc.) mixes.

The only drawback I've found is that the basket that holds the pulp is a little hard to clean. It's not as bad as it could be, but does require a bit of time to get all the pulp out. We've found that a vegetable (stiff bristled) brush makes this go a lot faster.

I didn't rate it 5 stars because of that (somewhat hard to clean) and also that the capacity of juicing is smaller than what some people might need. I suspect you could get about 2, maybe 3 cups of juice before having to remove the pulp. If you wanted more you could just start over. I can imagine for some people (or commercial operations) this would be a drawback.

If I were to get another juicer, I'd definitely buy an Omega. The quality surpasses others...

Don't understand why Omega 1000 is highly rated
I've had my Omega 1000 juicer for about a year. I used it around 30 times when POOF! That was it, the motor burned out. Then I spent five minutes on the Web to discover that it's a "1/3 horsepower" juicer. That's a little less than 250 watts.

Other models like the L'Equip 110.5 Mini Pulp Ejector Juicer (rated better and less expensive than the Omega 1000) put out 600 watts. Even the Omega 8005 produces only 1/3 horsepower.

If you go to Bizrate.com, on the page where the 8005 is displayed, it posts a power rating of 1/3 hp. Yet if you click on the "What's this?" next to the "Power" heading, you're told:

"Power: Determine the wattage rating on the juicer. If you're juicing hard produce, the more watts, the better. A motor rating of 450 watts or greater is recommended."

Translated to hp, Bizrate.com recommends a bit more than 1/2 horsepower as the minimum acceptable hp. Shame on me for not spending the time to research this before buying...

Back to Basics SJR1X Smoothie Blast

Perfect smoothie maker!
I'm very please with this little blender. Holds quite a bit and was powerful enough to handle hard, frozen fruit. Haven't tried ice yet but I know it will do great. It blends quickly and the dispenser actually works great! It's made of plastic so may crack if handled too rough, but overall I'm extremely pleased. Does exactly what it's supposed to.

Back to Basics SJR1X Smoothie Blast
Chops ice good. Does a good job making Smoothie's. A bit

noisy. Good price / value.

works okay, but LOUD
I got this smoothie maker several years ago for my husband. It does work okay, but this is the loudest little blender ever! It's a bit difficult to clean, too, especially the spout. After many, many smoothies, the poor little thing is having problems. I'd get another one except for the noise factor.

Hamilton Beach 53206 Wave Maker 2 Speed Blender, Red

Fantastic value
I use this blender almost exclusively for green smoothies using kales and chards which are some of the "tougher" greens. I add them first with the liquid and then add frozen or fresh fruits and ice. The blender lid has a removable cap which is handy for adding additional ingredients such as protein powder. The wave maker action is not just a gimmick, it really works. I am very happy with this purchase.

So far, so good . . . .
I was looking to replace my old Hamilton Beach blender I purchased at a sale from Montgomery Wards back in 1988. I was very unhappy when it finally gave up and died. I had an Osterizer that had been given to me as a gift waiting for it's chance to work. What a disappointment! I used it for one month and had enough. I was walking in Target and saw this blender on sale. Now I know that anything manufactured these days is not meant to last, hence my dismay when my blender died. I don't need it for making smoothies and milkshakes. I just want a blender that can do what it is supposed to do, blend and not dance around the counter while its doing it's job. Also not to emit a burning smell and fry on the first use. So right at the moment, I am pleased. Don't know if it will last as long as my 1988 purchase, but here's hoping. Aside from that, I also like that it has only 4 buttons: on/off, low, high, and pulse. That's all you need. Most have a bunch of buttons and I only use a...

It's a blender...
Well. It blends. Lol but seriously, it's quieter than most blenders. I love the red color & the simplicity of only having a few buttons. I made salsa yesterday & had to squish the tomatoes & chiles down for it to blend, but it worked fine after that.

Hamilton Beach 52182 WavePower 12-Speed Blender, Black

Exceptional Blender and a great price for the quality
I have had this blender for 2 1/2 years now and it still works excellent. I have been able to make the creamiest smoothies with it. For example, I can blend strawberries, blueberries, and bananas together so well, that there are no longer any seeds or grainy texture present. I will definitely purchase this blender again if I need a new one in the future.

Milkshake heaven!
I've had this blender about 3 weeks and it's running fine. I don't think all the buttons make much difference in speed/torque but it blends well and that's what I bought it to do. I haven't tried blending ice yet but my neighbor's unit blends it very well. That's why I bought this model. I figured if her's chopped ice then it ought to handle ice cream, milk and chocolate OK too. So far I'm not disappointed.

I had a $150 Waring (Copper base) blender that fell apart after several months of use so I thought I'd give a cheaper name/model a chance.

Very pleased
We wanted a large light weight blender that we could put in the diswasher. This product has fit the bill. We have had no leakage problems that some have written about. We are very pleased with this Hamilton Beach blender.

Holmes Quartz Tower Heater

A toaster oven with a box fan
The thermostat setting going on and off will startle you every time. I don't know why the thermostat has to be so loud.

The fan's white noise is tolerable when I'm studying next to it but rather loud first thing in the morning. Not good near a TV either.

However, this is good to put in a room to prevent pipe freeze (set it to 40 degrees).

Heat me up really good
I bought this Holmes heater for my bedroom because during the winter months, my bedroom sometimes get's that extra chill. This little heater does it job by keeping me warm and toasty. I don't rest my heater on the floor, that does not mean you can't rest the heater on the floor, you can rest it on the floor. I just rest mines on a little wood table and it does the job just find. I have bought many heaters over the years and I love this one the best.

PROS: 1. This heater heats up your room quick.
2. It has tip over safety protection: meaning if the heater fell over it will shut of.
3. It heats up to 1500 Watts.
4. Electronic Thermostat.
5. 2 Heat Settings: meaning you can set it at 1200 watts or 1500 watts.
6. LCD digital controls: meaning you can set your heater on what ever degrees you wish, Example 65 degrees to 90 degrees.

CONS: I only have one con which is ,it is a little to loud, not to loud that you can't sleep...

always heated the whole room.
It's always heated the whole. This is my third one and missing another star because it only last 2 winter.

Juiceman HB0001S Juiceman Stainless Steel Hand Blender and Accessories

Powerful and performs well
I"ve gone through enough immersion blenders over the years to know the quality can vary widely between them. My first stick was dinky and could barely blend a glass of chocolate milk. My last hand blender was a Kitchenaid (no attachments) which was fabulous until I decided to use it for making homemade soap and could not let it touch food again. I thought I had my priorities in the right order at the time. In between the two, I had several more including a Braun hand blender complete with chopper bowl attachment.

The Juiceman Hand Blender appears to be very well made. The base is heavy, and the stainless steel trim looks sharp and is easy to clean. The black handle has a rubber type finish that keeps it from slipping from your hand. There's nothing dinky about it. The blade is more advanced than the blade on other hand blenders, as it includes two extra little lips that hang down, adding additional blending power. It reminds me of the blade inside a traditional...

Solid, powerful, but with dedicated tools
Having owned a battery powered hand blender, for over 20 years, I have enjoyed it's convenience, but rued its lack of power both for heavier tasks and duration. Ideally this blender should be able to address that, though with the inconvenience of a cord. I'm happy to say that it has.

POWERFUL AND ADJUSTABLE:
Wow, does this thing have power. Not only does it have an On button, but it has a Boost button which has considerable more power. Though I have not run into anything that requires this Boost as yet, I'm glad to know it's there. This tool also allows you to adjust the speed overall. That is something that having used my battery powered mixer, I have missed, as it was either a slow mix, or a splashy one. This one won't have that issue. However this adjustment is on the top of handle and not in the most convenient spot if you want to make an adjustment on the fly. You would need to use your other hand to do so.

WHISK ATTACHMENT AN ODD SIZE, CAN'T USE...

Outstanding quality at a reasonable price!
This is a marvelous piece of kitchen equipment that I now wonder how I did without. Let me take it piece by piece:

- The motor for this is very well built and quite heavy. It is interchangeable with each of the pieces that come with the set. Something that you may not notice, but which was a pleasant surprise, was the speed control for the motor on the end of the handle. The speeds are set just right for everyday needs - from chopping to puree. The interlock is metal, and while a little tricky to get into the right spot, once it is there it is there to stay. There is a nice interlock mechanism for all the attachments, so you don't have to worry about disengaging mid job.

- The whisk is the highest quality I have ever seen on a device like this. All metal and yet not rigid like many mechanized whisks. It has the perfect touch for mixing and, as mentioned, locks tightly to the motor, so there are no worries on disengaging.

- the food processor...

Shark EP722 Vacuum with Floor Brush, Factory Serviced

The most irritating vacuum cleaner I've ever owned
This is by far the most irritating vacuum cleaner I've ever owned.

On the plus side, it is light weight and has a handle on one end that makes is practical to hold the machine in one hand while using the dusting brush in the other hand. However, it's easy to forget the big handle on the top of the canister is for the machine's dust bin, so if you go to pick up the machine with it, the bin will come flying up and you're likely to spill its contents.

The cord retraction feature was good at first but failed after a while in a particularly unfortunate way: it won't lock at any extension and just zooms back into the machine. I had to tie a knot in the cord at its root to make the vacuum usable, so good-by cord retraction. The cord is shorter than is usual on other vacuums I've lived with so there's a lot more plugging and unplugging than there should be.

The machine will happily stand on its end, giving a little more high reach for the hose, but the exhaust...

Good
I go this 7 years ago for my birthday, and it still works. About 3 years ago the turbo floor brush and mini turbo brush seized up. But the floor brush picks up hair better than the turbo brushes.

Nice Little Vac
First of all, don't expect features of a more expensive vac on this one. I have the non turbo 722 model because I did not need it for one and it requires more fussing to maintain. There is some confusion about the dust bin lift handle if you do not read the manual. It will come out if you try to pick up the vac by that handle, but it will not spill out allover because you still have the filter and screen in place to prevent that from happening.
The adjustable wand is great. That feature alone is worth five stars. It is a quality well engineered product that will last much longer than the vac itself. I was amazed at how quiet the vac runs and the volume of the suction generated by a 10 amp motor. The secret to using this machine is the Users Manual. Read it and follow the recommendation for dumping and cleaning the screens and filters. This done, with that in mind, you may never need to replace either of the screens or filters. As fragile as the may look, handled with care they...

Dr. Fresh Disney Pooh Humidifier

Works great! and the kids love it!
I like that I can adjust the amount of humidity that comes out of the humidifier. The mist comes out of both Pooh's ears. It is easy to fill and the kids love it. Great buy. Oh yeah and it is very very quiet. I barely even know it is on. Would buy again.

Cute Humidifier
I ordered this cool mist Ultrasonic humidifier from Amazon about three months ago for my 1 year olds room. It is very cute, and fits his room's them nicely. I like the way that the steam comes out of Pooh's ears.
We've had this humidifier running constantly and haven't had any problems yet. It has an automatic shut off for when the water level runs low so that the motor isn't constantly on when there is no steam to produce (a feature missing on my "adult" one in our master bedroom). I also functions as a night light with the tank lighting up - a little large for a night light, but it also has a separate on/off switch so that you can choose whether to light up the room or not.
The only drawback to the humidifier is that the water condenses under pooh, so that when you go to fill the tank, there is a puddle of water on top of it that will slosh off.
The other very minor issue I have is with the butterfly knob, as you have to spin it almost all the way around before you...

Wonderful
This is soooo quiet and my son just loves it. I wouldn't consider anything else for his room. It is easy to manage and clean.

Ronco Coffeetime Brewer System White CT1000WHGEN - Cold Brewing, Recipe Bookle (2 Filters included)

Inexpensive, Efficient Way to Cold-brew Coffee
While I did look at cold-brew coffeemakers on Amazon (in late May/early June), I didn't buy one then. I was trying to decide on the nearly $35.00 Toddy system or the $6.00 Ronco system. In July, I bought the inexpensive Ronco Coffeetime Brew System at a discount store for the same price it is sold here on Amazon ($5.99). It successfully cold-brews coffee in about 10-12 hours' time.

My first attempts at making the cold-brewed coffee were merely trial-and-error moments that I have hopefully learned from. First of all, the Ronco Coffeetime Brew System comes with a recipe booklet (with directions for making standard cold-brewed coffee), a plastic brew pot (with lid), 2 felt filter pads, a rubber plug, and a plastic container with a screw-top lid. The cold-brewed coffee drips into that container and can be stored in the refrigerator.

For the first few batches, I used Maxwell House medium ground coffee, which was a dollar more than the Ronco coffeemaker. I put the plug...

Great cup of Joe
OMG . . . I stopped drinking coffee years ago because of the high acid content. This makes a great cup of coffee. It can be hard if you do not know how to plan ahead when make cold extracted beverages. Thankfully, that is not a problem because as soon as one pot is finished the next one is started. It helps to have several large glass bottles to store the brewed mix. One suggestion, it would be great if more than one stopper were provided with this set up. Back ups of small items that are meant to be removed is a good idea in case the item is misplaced. Also, suggestion of where to get new filter would have been great. The replacements bought on line were the wrong size.

Coffee filtration system
This is a great product for making anything with coffee. I was suffering with acid reflux and after using it for making my iced blended mochas I no longer have the reflux.

Hardware House 41-6305 Bonnaire 52-Inch Triple Mount Ceiling Fan, Silver or Black

Great fan. It is very quiet at the highest speed setting. The light, is a little motel like. This is due to the globe's glass color. The only way around this was to put only one light in the fixture. It still has a 70's feel to the light, but is bearable.

Krups FDK112 Sandwich Maker, Matte Black

Krups FDK112 Sandwich Maker
We have been using sandwich makers for many years. This is our third unit in many years. Although they all work well, Krups FDK112 has made the unit much more stable and safe to operate. Old units made by other manufacturers, were unsafe to operate (problems like finger burning, tipping over when closing the lid etc.) This unit is also easy to clean after use. We bought additional unit for our daughter for Christmas. This is a great sandwich maker for quick snack or picnics.

What a great kitchen tool!
I ordered this sandwich maker from Amazon.com after visiting a family member who owned a different brand. While the sandwiches in her machine tasted great, they were hard to remove from the machine and had to be cut with a knife while still on the metal plate of the machine. It also took five or six minutes for 2 sandwiches to toast.

The Krups has NONE of these problems. It looks great (black, sleek) is super easy to use, and browns the bread perfectly. If you wipe the plates lightly with oil or spray with cooking spray you won't have any problem with food sticking, either.

I've also found that you can use lots of different kinds of bread--it works with English muffins (make a breakfast sandwich of scrambled eggs and cheese!), pita bread, thick-crust bread, and traditional sliced bread. The Krups Sandwich Maker does a nice job of sealing the edges without squashing the whole sandwich. I'm sold on it!

Krups FDK112 Sandwich Maker
Very easy to use! Create quick meals using regular bread! You aren't limited to the small loaves with this machine. The bread gets toasted quickly, and the inside filling is perfectly warmed! This machine even cuts the sandwiches for you! Cool!

I almost didn't get this vacuum because there were no reviews, and I had never heard of the brand. I had narrowed it down to this one, and one other - and I bought the other because it was a major brand. When it arrived, I saw the tiny little dirt canister, and said "forget it"...then bought this one with it's nice large dust canister.

I LOVE my little Mondial Turbo - it has great suction, a decently long power cord, is lightweight and easy to carry (since I bought it mostly for cleaning stairs, and cobwebs and dust from my ceiling, that is how I usually use it). It has a small thumb controlled port (?) on the hose that allows you to adjust suction if needed, and clever attachment storage.

I have only 2 minor complaints. That wonderful port is easy to open accidentally while vacuuming, then your suction drops unexpectedly. Also, there isn't great access for getting clogs out of the ends of the hose. I have a Great Pyrenees who sheds a LOT, and a lab mix who likes...

Very Powerful Suction in a Small Vacuum
Amazing suction. Very portable. Not good for deep pile, but all else great.

Only complaint is I cannot find a replacement HEP filter. It says you can clean it with soap & water (and a soft brush if necessary); so perhaps the filter will last the life of the vacuum?

I did find this info and just emailed them for replacement filter info:

Good vacuum for hard surface floors, stairs and smaller homes.
I've been happy with this vacuum, seems like a good value after a week of so of use. I had never heard of the brand, but it looks very similar to other namebrand vacuums so I thought perhaps it came from the same factory overseas. So far, so good. There aren't a lot of frills - there's no user manual included in the box and build quality is basic but it's a very simple product. It works great for hardwood floors and stairs - strong suction and it doesn't have spinning brush had that would scratch up the floor or be heavy to move around. It's light enough to carry as you use it - that's actually better since it's relatively light and can tip over. I wouldn't recommend it for thick carpet - it doesn't have a motorized agitator brush - I didn't want one, but it probably would be needed on heavy carpet. The expensive name brand vacuum it replaced started breaking very quickly after purchase so the bar is pretty low for this.

Kichler Lighting 300124OBB Richland II 42IN Flush-Mount Ceiling Fan, Oil Brushed Bronze Finish with Reversible Blades

Pretty nice fan, not bad performance for size, looks great
I really like the looks of this fan, and I've researched A LOT of fans, especially smaller ceiling-huggers. Kind of hard to find a stylish fan with a small blade span size that hugs the ceiling, but this fills the bill. Reasonably priced for the good quality of the fan. The housing has a vaguely 1920-30s quality to it which is really cool - combined with the more contemporary blades, the fan has an overall contemporary feel. The height of the fan worked well with the low ceiling height (7'4"), and the small blade span solved an issue with door interference. The room it's cooling is 11 x 12, and while I didn't expect a fan this size would move a TON of air, I do wish it was a little more robust, even though it wasn't bad - although maybe can't make a completely fair judgment since it's tough to compete with several days in a row of 100

Deni Round Stainless Steel Electric Skill, 12-Inch

Deni electric skillet
This electric skillet is high quality stainless steel easy cleanup and makes delicious food when you make stir fry, or fried chicken. Great quality was an excellent purchase for me I cook daily now and will use this at least two or three times a week I feel it will stand the test of time. Amazon has some great products and the best customer service should you have a problem.

love this pan!
I was looking for a stainless steel pan that heats evenly. I have found it. I like the fact that it is not real deep, too. It makes a great omelet. I also love that it is completely immersible.

electric skillet
This is the perfect size skillet for 2 people. I love the stainless steel, too. It is easy to clean and I don't have to worry about teflon wearing away.

Blendtec 40-601-04 64-Ounce Jar for Blendtec Blenders

Previous individual's review is no longer valid.
The 64 ounce jar has been replaced by the 40-610-06 and has a three year warranty. It works great. I have had my Blendtec Blender in continual use since 2003 and wouldn't change for anything else out there.

Works as described
item works as described, it was a good purchase. This was a product to replace a product that will need replacement again, Joy!!

Super durable.. the best you can get!
We bought our blendtec total blender in summer of 2005. With smoothies, soups, bread crumbs being made several times a week, I have yet to see any trouble with the motor or the jar. In fact, I am pretty amazed at that knowing how much we have grown to love this blender. We have this jar and the 5-sided 3qt jar. Each has their use. We love this one for soup and smoothies or smaller quantities of blending. It is nice to have two jars.. I wouldn't have thought so, but that I have both.. I'm hooked!

Tiger PVHB30U Water Heater 3LITER Electric Pump

Makes Great Tea and everything else
It is very easy to use and makes perfect hot water. Most of my friends who see it have never seen anything like it. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of other brands and models but it sure is great and looks great; attractive water level indicator; high quality made; made in Japan. Just a simple white oyster color makes it very pleasing on the countertop. Just enough controls make it interesting but it's ultimately simple to use. When you refill it with water it knows enough to reboil automatically so you don't have to push any buttons. When the temperature gets to correct level it does not play any funny songs.
At night if it still has enough water in it, I just leave it on, and the water stays at the 194 temperature, which is where we like it in the morning. If I refill at night I push the 6 hour button and it will do it all starting six hours later. So operation can be very simple, just fill with water and after awhile push the buttons to dispense hot water. And the...

Great product, great cost performance.
I'd been using Panasonic (Japanese) products until recently. I am very picky about small kitchen appliances because I use it everyday. This is one of the best among the product we can purchase in USA. It works perfect for making Japanese green tea - even the one I bought at Costco (Itoen tea bags), lower temp brings out its natural sweetness. Also works great as my kitchen assistant - it boils water quickly, perfect helper for making pasta, potato salad, steamer. LOVE IT !!!!!

LOVE IT!
I love this pot! We've used it for about 3 years now, works perfectly! Very easy to use, and you have hot water anytime you need. Easy to clean - just add 2-3 tbsp of lemon juice (4 - if it's really bad) in a pot filled with water and push two buttons together - done! Rinse it and ready to use again. No scratching, or using any "coffee pot cleaners" - you will ruin the surface (like my husband did!). Well, he is buying another one now, same brand. We can't live without it :)

Thermoelelectric LY0715B 18 Can Mini Fridge Cooler/Warmer

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT.....
Actually, they were no instructions that came along with this product. I even tried googling to locate information and couldn't find anything.

I left food in it for two days and when I returned the food was slightly cool, not cold. This product is so awful that I question if it even works, but the rotating fan is a give away.

Prior to purchasing this cooler they were no reviews. Now they are some and I am in full agreement with the other buyers. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT.

I hope that I can find the box so that I can return it for a full refund.

Operated too loud and didn't cool...returned the next day.
As stated above it ran way too loud to use in an office setting (which it was purchased for) and even though we left on overnight, it didn't cool effectively the soft drinks we'd put inside to test it out. Went back the next day. Amazon gave exceptional service, however!

Furious...
I do not recommend this product because it cools not satisfactorily you put inside. Looks like a child's toy !

Anuka Electric Smoker

I Feel sooo lucky!!!
Wow I feel so lucky. This is my very first review I have ever done on Amazon but I felt I had too, I ordered one of these about seven years ago and paid seven times the amount I paid here, this smoker is fabulous, cooks my chicken, steaks and fish perfectly and taste exactly like it came straight off the out door pit, I love this smoker so much so I'm thinking about ordering another just for a backup.

Better than specs
The Anuka Electric Smoker was a bit of a surprise. In the photo, it looks a bit like a frying pan "gone bad." Taking it out of the box, it is quite something else. To be clear, the temperature listed is 375F. This would be too high for smoking and quickly harm many foods. However, this is the element temp, not the temp it reaches in the unit. In an hour, doing babyback ribs, two containers of wood dust, it oversmoked the meat but did little cooking.
Thus, one container, like the directions say, but finishing cooking in the oven, except perhaps fish, is the way to go.
The storage cover is very good. There may be units more advanced, with temp controls, this one has none but works just the same. Clean-up is easy and has to be done outdoors or the underside of the lid alone will give a delightful smokey aspect to any home.
I say..buy one...good gift item, easy to use, well built, reliable...and more useful to a professional than expected.

Great Product
I use it to make bacon and it works like a charm. Easy to clean up, and sturdy. The only problem is the directions could be a bit more detailed.
